Smoking is a serious abomination to human and social health. Addiction develops quickly. The major consequences include premature death and morbidity from cardiovascular disease, lung cancer and many other types of cancer, and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). All citizens who use tobacco should be encouraged to quit and offered help and/or referrals to increase their success in quitting.

Evali (evali) - a disease of the lungs of a smoker
Evali is a serious lung disease caused by vaping. Vitamin E acetate, found in some e-liquids, is a possible cause.
The Evali outbreak in late 2019 and early 2020 sent thousands of people to the hospital. At least 68 people died. EVALI cases have since declined, but people who vape can still get Evali.
